Come enjoy a taste of the tropics of Costa Rica with a tour of coconuts. After spending 2 years in Costa Rica, Manassah comes to Chicago to share with you the ancient techniques of making coconut oil, the process today, and how you can make your own oil at home.
You will also learn easy ways to make your own coconut milk and other crafts that can be made from different parts of the coconut.
You will be able to sample coconut oil FROM COSTA RICA. We will make coconut milk, drink coconut water and water of pipas and eat pastries made from coconuts in coconut bowls. She will also bring crafts made from coconut made by local artists in Costa Rica.
All products will be available to purchase and all money will go to help continue Manassah’s passion of volunteering on a coconut farm and helping it grow and expand to serve its community with local sustainable products.
After workshop, you can talk with Manassah about her experience on the coconut farm in Costa Rica and opportunities to visit and volunteer.
Manassah will have crafts and other products for sale.
