Mindful yoga, offered by Tom Hilgardner, is a balance of breath, meditative sitting and awareness through movement postures. This class is a slower paced yoga that allows
- the breath to enhance the flexibility of the body,
- the nervous system to generate new ways of understanding itself,
- and to foster more height, flow, and clearer thinking.
A majority of postures are seated or lying down on your mat with an emphasis on creating flexibility and freedom in the pelvis and spine. Tom’s way of teaching Mindful yoga is inspired by a ten year meditation practice, Yin yoga, Feldenkrais movement, and Restorative yoga.
Beginners and advanced yogis are welcome and will leave feeling renewed.
